Aerospace & Defense

The aerospace and defense industry relies on high-performance, zero-failure components and assemblies that operators can rely on in extreme environments. Manufacturers who supply these industries need to prioritize performance and safety above all else to ensure that each mission is successful. At Daisy Data Displays, we provide high-quality Military shipboard, airborne, and ground control computers and electronic equipment that you can rely on. Each of our products is built to meet or exceed strict Military specifications and industry standards.

Military operations across all branches rely on military rated rugged technology to ensure the performance and safety of mission critical operations, data and applications. These rugged military computers, x-terminals and displays are integrated in military vessels, vehicles and command centers to maintain reliable and consistent communication, data collection and storage, monitoring, technology control and surveillance.

The military requires rugged technology that possesses durability, longevity and processing power in a compact design configurable for remote military applications. There is a growing demand for military technology solutions that are optimized for low size, weight, power and cost (SWaP-C).

Aerospace & Defense Products

Defense products have strict specifications and performance requirements that outweigh those for commercial and industrial products. Some of the key features aerospace and defense products need to have include:

Durability Durability

Aerospace and defense products must be able to withstand impact damage, jostling from movement and relocation, and more. They also need to have a long lifespan without finicky maintenance and replacement demands.

Processing Power Processing Power

Military and aerospace electronics need to have the hardware to perform increasingly complex tasks and handle rapidly expanding software and file size requirements.

Proper Lighting Settings and Visibility Proper Lighting Settings and Visibility

Aerospace and defense equipment must be readable in sunlight and with night vision glasses, as well as have low or limited light emissions to ensure stealth.

Corrosion Resistance Protection From Interference

The assemblies need to be constructed with shielding elements that defend against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI).

Resistance to Environmental Damage Resistance to Environmental Damage

Along with being resistant to impact damage from jostling, travel, and drops, the electronics must be able to resist damage from shocks and harsh weather conditions.

COTS Compliance COTS Compliance

Commercial off-the-shelf design with interoperability and affordability.

Rugged Military Computers

Rugged Military computers are built to withstand the unique physical and environmental requirements of the aerospace and defense industry. Reliable rugged Military computers allow modern militaries to constantly be connected to communication and operations management technologies while also having the power and intelligence to meet increasingly diverse use cases. The technology must be ruggedized enough to withstand data loss events, bad weather, physical impact and vibration, shocks, and more. At the same time, the technology has to be easy to access and use while in Military gear and in the middle of operations.

Standards and Certifications for Aerospace and Defense

Aerospace and defense products need to meet a range of Military, or MIL-SPEC, standards for performance, durability, reliability, longevity, and more. These standards are used by the U.S. Military to assess equipment eligibility. The MIL-SPEC standards we meet include:

  • MIL-S-901D (Shock 901D). This standard regulates shipboard equipment that needs to handle high-impact mechanical shock.
  • MIL-STD-167-1A. This standard establishes the testing requirements for shipboard equipment against environmental vibration damage.
  • EMI MIL Standard 461 & 462. This standard sets the criteria for evaluating the electromagnetic capabilities of technology products.
  • MIL-STD 810F. This sets the requirements for resisting temperature fluctuations, shock, and vibrations for rugged products.
  • NEMA 4X. This standard establishes ratings for electrical enclosures’ ability to resist chemical damage, corrosion, and more.
